Kanda is the Nyau King’s second 2016 offing and features Malawi’s multi-talented singer/producer Sonyezo as well as Nigeria’s Orezi. In July the three stars linked up in South Africa where the video was shot.

Tay Grin, who recently had a tour to Uganda, further revealed that the new music video will be premiered on TRACE in the next few days.

He personally traveled to Johannesburg where he met top management of TRACElast Friday.

Kanda will be premiered exclusively on TRACE TV before any channel [and] they will promote the video intensely on all their platforms,” explained Tay Grin.

The award-winning rapper further indicated that his trip to the TRACE Africa offices had opened more doors for him as an artist and his content.

“I met top management. I am happy to say that we have struck a deal. We have a good working relationship for future projects. Promotion of shows and events, coverage and promotion of videos,” he explained.

Kanda will be following the lines ofTay Grin’s first 2016 hit Chipapapa, which features another Nigerian music heavyweight 2Baba. The music soured to position 2 on the TRACE Africa Top 10 Chat.

“They are aware of my ability as an artist. They know what Kanda has done so far and this is material they can promote on their platform. It is an African sound that is original and not a copy of the Western sounds, it’s authentic [and] they love that,” Tay Grin added.

Since the release of Chipapapa, Tay Grin has been up and about pushing his new content and pursuing more international collaborations.

Apart from 2Baba and Orezi, the Nyau King and Sonyezo have also worked with Nigeria’s Runtown, South Africa-based Malawian Gemini Major and Zambia’s Roberto.

During the Barry One album launch in Blantyre last Sunday, Tay Grin announced that the collaboration with Sonyezo and Roberto, called Sugar Mummy, will be coming out next week.

While in Uganda, where he was invited to grace the Uganda Entertainment Awards, Tay had the chance to be interviewed by Bonang for E! Entertainment Africa. He also had a media tour and linked up with Uganda’s top artists Eddy Kenzo and Chameleon for collaborations.
