Democratic Front(UDF) National youth Director, Ibrahim Maloni, has become the latest statistic of the gun crime in the country after thugs attacked him at his home went away with different valuables and undisclosed amount of cash.
Nyasa Times understand that the thugs shot hopeless Maloni on the thigh and hacked him with a Panga knife on the head.
Kamuzu Central Hospital has however managed to remove the bullet on the thigh.
UDF National Executive Member. William Ching’amba, who was at the hospital, expressed shock over the attack.
“This is shocking,” he said.
Family members Joshua, Asiatu and Mariam Maloni were all seen to be devastated with the incident.
“We are very sad with what has happened to our brother,” said one of the family member, Joshua Maloni.
Malawi has been facing increased cases of robberies and insecurity has become the major concern of many.
Ironically, the Ministry of Internal Security is being headed by UDF president Atupele Muluzi, himself a victim of house-break in.
