TNM head of marketing Madalitso Jonazi disclosed this during the seventh draw of the promotion held at company’s head office in Blantyre.

Jonazi said Kuiphula ndi Mpamba Promotion is rewarding Mpamba agents handsomely as a token of appreciation for their role in pushing up mobile money transactions.

“We are grateful for the work that our Mpamba agents are doing in helping increase uptake of the service by Malawians. Customers are now realising the benefits of using Mpamba for various transactions and benefitting from the convenience and great time and money saving that mobile money offers,” Jonazi said.

Jonazi also clamied that the increase in the growth of Mpamba transactions demonstrates the critical value of TNM’s mobile money service as a catalyst for socio-economic development through mobile payments.
“Mobile Money is the new culture in business and personal life. Our Mpamba service was designed to add value to the country’s economy by helping improve national payments and consumer transactions. The intrinsic increase in Mpamba transactions underscores the service’s utility,” he said.

During the seventh draw three agents from three regions received K200,000 each and another 3 Mpamba agents walked away with K100,000 each while 15 others got K50,000 each,  five from each of the country’s  three regions.

Kuiphula ndi Mpamba, a promotion launched on April 1 is specifically meant for Mpamba agents. The promotion which will run until July 31 will see one lucky Mpamba agent carting home K2 million. TNM expects to spend over K16 million for the promotion and draws are conducted fortnightly.

To qualify for the fortnight prizes TNM Mpamba agents are required to carry out a minimum of 20 transactions either cashing in or cashing out.
