The donation was in response to a request from the organization, which falls under Saint Martins Deborres Parish of the Catholic Church.

Speaking during the donation, TNM Head of region-South Francis Mwamadi said TNM believes in reaching out to the needy through its corporate social responsibility programs.

“TNM is a proud Malawian brand that is patriotic to Malawians. We therefore take pride in giving back to Malawians in their time of need,” said Mwamadi.

He reaffirmed TNM’s commitment to assisting vulnerable people including children.

In her remarks, Tisungane Coordinator Josephine Allieri applauded the mobile company for the gesture.

“This donation is timely as our funding cycle has not yet started this being the New Year. We are very grateful to TNM for this assistance,” she said.

Allieri commended the partnership that exists between her organization and the mobile phone network operator.

“We have a strong partnership with TNM and we are happy that our children are benefiting from it,” she said.

The assorted items donated include rice, sugar, soap and Likuni Phala, a nutrition porridge.

Established in 2004, Tisungane caters for 300 vulnerable children, some of whom are orphans.
