TNM Mobile Money Business Development Manager Ernest Kalomba has attributed the increase to a growing interest in the service by customers. He said a promotion aimed at increasing awareness on the benefits of using the Mpamba service,  ‘Send money and Win’ helped increase the acquisition.

Speaking at the final draw of the promotion which ran between December 10 to January 18, Kalomba said ‘Send money and Win’ with Mpamba has impressed Malawians.

We have seen a tremendous increase in the number of people sending money through our mobile money service Mpamba  with 20 percent since we rolled out the promotion and as a company we are very excited. There has been excitement among our customers winning prizes every day and we would like to encourage them to continue using Mpamba as it provides convenience,” he said.

During the promotion, a lucky customer received the state-of-art Samsung Galaxy Core 2 handset daily. A total of 40 Samsung Galaxy handsets have been won.

Kalomba said TNM received a huge response during the promotion. “As a network service provider, we are very excited with the response which is an indicator of the interest people have in Mpamba service,” he said.

One of the winners in the final draw Patrick Chipeta businessman from Luwelezi in Mzimba could not hide his excitement when the news of his lucky was broken  to him.

I’m very excited to be one of winners of this promotion, I should take this opportunity to thank TNM for the promotion this is a way to go,” said Chipeta.

To qualify into the promotion TNM customers had to send money using Mpamba services from K2, 000 and above.
