Political movement Transformation Alliance (TA) can breathe a sigh of relief after securing a new venue to hold their much awaited
National Conference scheduled for 25th August 2017.
The Alliance had their venue booking cancelled at an eleventh hour by authorities at the College of Medicine (CoM) Sports Complex on Sunday without giving out convincing reasons.
Reports that Nyasa Times got revealed that the decision to cancel the booking was politically motivated and was influenced by the rulling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) through Regional Governor for the South Charles Mchacha.
He is reportedly to have issued threats to the CoM Management to cancel the booking or face unspecified action a development he denies.
TA Chairperson Moses Kunkuyu confirmed in an interview on Tuesday that indeed they have secured a new venue for their conference with only three days to go.
“I can confirm that we have secured a new place for our forthcoming national conference and the place is St. Pius Catholic Church Hall andwe thank them for offering us this opportunity” said Kunkuyu.
He fursther said this will also ease logistical challenges since the new venue is closer to the College of Medicine where they had earlier
“We believe it will be easy for all our delegates because the place is not far from where we booked previously so we won’t have many
challenges” said Kunkuyu.
The TA Leader still expressed concern with the action of the ruling DPP whom he say are abusing their powers.
Meanwhile, Kunkuyu has confirmed that everything is set and will go according to plan.
The conference is expected to attract delegates from both the local and international political platforms.Follow and Subscribe Nyasa TV :
