Two Malawian women fail to travel with minors because of lack of documentation

Two Malawian nationals have been refused exit at Mwanza border in southern Malawi  for travelling with minors without any proper documentation today. The passport of the woman

Immigration spokesperson Senior Immigration Assistant  Pasqually Zulu has identified the nationals as Ms Clara Kampesi, aged 26 from Semu Vge T/A Chigalu in Blantyre and  Ms Enifa Mussa, Passport number MA 193716 aged 51,from Makalani Vge T/A Mpama in Chiradzulu.

Zulu says the two claimed to have no idea on what is supposed to be done when travelling outside the country with minors even though  their parents  gave then a go ahead.

“This have been done in an effort to minimise cases of child trafficking in and outside Malawi and also the need for proper documentation when travelling with minors outside the country,” says Zulu.

He says the two have been advised to go to thier nearest police station ,Social welfare office or at the courts to get authorisation letter to travel with the minors.

“In addition to that, they have also been advised to get consent letter from the parents including photocopies of the passport either of parents,” he said.

Meanwhile the Immigration department is appealing to the general public,(parents in particular) to be responsible when sending minors outside the country  by providing proper documentation,  following recent cases of child trafficking. ‎

Kachikuwo stole a lot of money in the service. He was flying on the monies while many police officers were failing to make two ends meet.

The man has plots in Lilongwe and Blantyre. The man could give his sons MK 500,000 cash as pocket monies.

Unfortunately, now he has no peace of mind. He is now to reap what he sow. He has been squeezed into the corner. This is the world.
