Umodzi Party of Professor Chisi joins UTM-MCP ‘grand alliance’
Sunday’s rally by UTM Party president Dr Saulos Klaus Chilima at Njamba Freedom Park has got a welcome boost with the announcement that Umodzi Party has joined the UTM-Malawi Congress Party (MCP) alliance.
UP president Professor John Chisi speaking at the rally said he hasi joined the grand alliance to help do away with tribalism and work for the benefit of mother Malawi.
Chisi said he strongly belives Chilima and others in the grand alliance that Malawi will only prosper if it puts in positions right people who will strive to change the economic status of its citizens.
Making the announcement on arrival at the rally venue, UP’s publicity secretary Sadana Bakili, said her party made the decision after going through manifestos of all political parties.
She said the UP and UTM manifestos are similar and UTM has the leadership capable of implementing the pledges for the benefit of all Malawians.
“We believe that Dr Saulos Klaus Chilima has the capacity to develop Malawi to the desired standards,” she said.
Chilima was holding his first rally in the Southern Region since the High Court, sitting as a Constitutional Court in Lilongwe, nullified last year’s presidential election and ordered a fresh poll.
Professor Chisi has led a UP delegation to the rally.
The development comes at a time when UTM has entered into a grand coalition with the MCP.
But is Prof. Chisi aware that the presidential candidate for the alliance is Dr Chakwera from MCP? I am wondering why he is saying he believes Dr Chilima has the capacity to develop Malawi that’s why he is joining the alliance. Is he joining blindly or not?

John Chisi is a cadet planted by DPP in the UTM/MCP Alliance. Not long ago Chisi has been on the neck of MCP. He hates MCP to the bone. Those of us who support Congress were bitter to him there. We know of course he is with UTM and not MCP but because were in alliance with UTM he has drawn our wrath.
Chilima doesn’t know Chisi. He is a serial failure. He failed interviews several to become a Principal of the smallest College of the University of Malawi. To become Chairperson of Medical Council of Malawi he had to bribe his way by castigating MCP and its followers. We have no problems with MAFUNDE and others joining the Alliance but for Chisi were politically injured. John Chisi has been cheating his German in-laws that he can become a state President.
For the sake of the Alliance plse get Chisi and his Umoza Party out. His inclusion will cost votes from MCP diehards. He belongs to DPP.

Umodzi, like a number of briefcase parties, has no choice but to join other notable parties. Ofcource partnering with DPP or UDF would be madness.
