VP Chihana: Mbelwa University to break ground within two months as government honours past pledges
Second Vice-President Enock Chihana has pledged that the current government will press on with development projects launched by the previous administration, insisting they belong to all Malawians regardless of which party is in power.

Chihana made the commitment while addressing the 40th CCAP Elective Synod General Assembly at Kamuzu Academy in Kasungu, name-checking one project in particular.
“One of the development projects is Mbelwa University. Within two months, we will start constructing the university,” he told the gathering.
His remarks came as CCAP Livingstonia Synod Secretary General William Tembo hailed the presence of top political figures at the assembly as a rare chance to pray together for a better Malawi — as he welcomed former President Lazarus Chakwera, UTM leader Dalitso Kabambe, former Vice-President Khumbo Kachali and a host of MPs to the event.
Kabambe, for his part, praised the Synod for bringing rival politicians together under one roof, declaring it was high time politics stopped standing in the way of worship and national occasions.
