Vuwa’s wife, son beats daughter’s lover Likonde

There is something wrong with DPP Ministers, MPs or their wives as many of them court bad publicity because of their deviant or un-honourable behaviour.

Examples are many but recent ones involve one Yunus Mussa who paid a whooping MK200,000 for a ‘one night stand’, Rumphi North MP Tasokwa Msiska , who had a scuffle with health workers and of course Simon Vuwa Kaunda who had his official car smashed by a jilted lover during an MBC function at the New State House last year.

This time around it’s the wife of Vuwa Kaunda MP for Nkhata Bay Central and Minister of Youth Development and Welfare and his son, Shenko Dave Kaunda who punched Nelson Likonde at Area 18 in Lilongwe because he was going out with the minister’s daughter.

Vuwa: Wife not happy with daughter going out with Likonde

The Kaunda’s were incensed that their daughter was having a love affair out with a non Tonga man.

“They want their daughter to be married with a man from Nkhata Bay or the northern region and not anywhere else,” said the source.

An eye witness  told Nyasa Times that Likonde had to flee to Area 18 Police where Police Officers watched him being punched by Vuwa’s wife and son.

But the Police Officers fearing for their jobs later intervened and told the Kaunda’s the Police station is not a “boxing” venue.

The Minister’s wife threatened cops that they risked losing their job if she was restrained from battering Likonde, shouting unprintable words to men and women in uniform.

But the police officer retaliated.

“Who is Vuwa Kaunda after all? Ndiposo Amayi Kaunda mwana wanu anatengela inu zochitikazo” one of the Police Officers was heard saying.

But Shenko Dave Kaunda escaped when Police wanted to arrest him and Vuwa’s wife boasted that his son cannot be arrested because his father is a Minister.

However, there was pandemonium when Likonde’s relations came and wanted to beat Vuwa’s wife.

Police had to fire into the air to disperse the irate Likonde’s, who have vowed to deal with the Vuwa’s any time.

Sources have reliably informed Nyasa Times that no charges have been laid on Vuwa’s wife or his son although Likonde is nursing some injuries following the beating.
