Wanderers coach demands consistency as Nomads eye Simba showdown
Mighty Wanderers head coach Bob Mpinganjira has declared his side is ready to carry their winning momentum straight into a huge continental showdown — after a commanding 2-0 victory over Kamuzu Barracks left the Nomads riding high in the FDH Bank Premiership.

The Lilongwe outfit made light work of their opponents at Civo Stadium on Sunday, with Sama Thierry breaking the deadlock in the 13th minute before Emmanuel Nyirenda doubled the advantage deep into first-half stoppage time to seal a comfortable Week 13 win.
Speaking after the match, a delighted Mpinganjira insisted the victory should serve as a springboard for his players heading into a hugely demanding stretch of fixtures — with Wanderers’ looming clash against Tanzanian powerhouses Simba in the CAF Champions League firmly in his sights.
The coach didn’t hold back in his confidence over his squad’s ability to mix it with continental heavyweights when the campaign gets underway in September.
“So far, we have got good players who can play in the cup. I just have to encourage them, and we don’t have different preparations for that. We will do what we always do. We just need the motivation and encouragement,” Mpinganjira declared.
But before continental football comes calling, Wanderers’ focus remains firmly on domestic business, with the Nomads set to host Red Lions at Mpira Stadium this weekend, as they look to extend their winning run and build further momentum ahead of the daunting Simba test.
