Wanderers thrash Wizards 4-0 in friendly
Be Forward Wanderers FC on Wednesday thrashed Premier Bet Wizards 4-0 in their second pre-season match, with Precious Msosa and Ishmael Thindwa scoring a brace each at the Limbe Country Club in Blantyre.
The Nomads started off the livelier side, with Peter Wadabwa almost slipping Precious Msosa through in the second minute, but the opposition goalkeeper was quick off his line.
Wanderers looked in control for most of the first-half, with Felix Zulu threatening the Peter Mponda’s side’s defenceon occasion, while Joseph Kamwendo looked to take control of the midfield.
Precious Msosa found the breakthrough for Wanderers in the 15th minute, after latching onto a cross from Mike Kaziputa.
Msosa was at it again, connecting a Kaziputa’s corner kick to the delight of Yasin Osman on the Nomads bench, who nodded his head in satisfaction.
The second-half started off similar to the first, with the Nomads asserting themselves as the dominant side.
Many changes were made in this half with the likes of Joseph Kamwendo, Rafiq Mussa, Lucky Malata, Harry Nyirenda, Felix Zulu, Peter Wadabwa, Francis Mulimbika being substuted for Rafiq Namwera, Alfred Manyozojnr, Peter Mselema, Foster Namwela, Ted Sumani, IshamelThindwa, Jimmy Zakazaka and Ibrahim Sadiq.
Wizards striker had a good chance to reduce the arrears in the 54th minute, but he snatched at his effort from inside the box and sent the ball well wide.
A well curved grasscutter pass from Jimmy Zakazaka found Thindwa in the box before he calmly slotted into the bottom right corner to put his side 3-0 ahead.
Thindwa completed his brace for the Nomads after he headed home from a cross put inZakazaka, who beat the opposition left-back with some impressive skill.
Wanderers ended the game as 4-0 winners, and will look to continue that form as they prepare for Bonanza this weekend against Nyasa Big Bullets in Lilongwe.
