Wanderers trio out of Carlsberg Cup final
Three key Mighty Be Forward Wanderers players – defender Francis Mlimbika, strikers Jabulani Linje and Ishmael Thindwa— will miss the Carlsberg Cup final next weekend after being ruled out for injuries.
According to Wanderers team manager Stevie Madeira, Mlimbika and Thindwa are nursing knee injuries.
The duo are supposed to go for MRA scan on Friday to determine the seriousness of their injuries.
Madeira said Mlimbika and Thindwa’s injuries are comes as a significant blow to the Nomads.
He said Linje, with a thigh injury, has been told to resume serious training from August 29—the day of the final match.
“We wish our players a speedy recovery and we look forward to seeing them back on a football pitch as soon as possible. But certainly their services will be missed in the finals,” Madeira said.
Meanwhile, midfield kingpin Rafiq Mussa faces fitness test to be considered by coach Eliah Kananji in the team for the finals.
Wanderers will clash with their arch-rivals Big Bullets who are the cup holders.
