Wapona tells MCP district chairmen’s lawyer Namasala to get organised

The Lilongwe High Court is Friday expected to hear an ex parte injuction application which disgruntled Malawi Congress Party (MCP) fired District Chairmen through their lawyer Wesley Namasala is asking the court to issue an order  restraining the party from continuing conducting district committee elections which the party is currently holding countrywide.

The matter which was adjourned to Thursday to allow MCP lawyer Wapona Kita respond to the application upon being served with the relevant documents , failed to be heard as the court settled for Friday to hear the application in the Morning before their usual business of district chairmen’s witness against the oldest party’s leadership to go for convention.

In his quick response in the court , lawyer Kita asked the court to allow Namasala go back to the drawing table and write the application again and serve it to him to respond to it before the matter is heard or ruled by the presiding judge,Justice Charles Mkandawire

Kita said: “My Lord   to be fair to my colleague ,I wish to ask him to go back and do the application again with right sections as in this application he is citing wrong section of 32 which only talks of matters discussed in chambers not in open court.

“I would have asked the court to throw it away but for the sake of my learned colleague I humbly ask him to go back and write it , serve us and we shall respond accordingly before your rulling my lord.”

Kita has also told the courrt that he is yet to be served with an application from Namasala who is also seeking the court to summon MCP Secretary General Gustav Kaliwo and his deputy Chatonda Kaunda to testify as friends of court and Kita has asked for the document before they respond to it.
