Wizards describe Wanderers game ‘a must win’: Malawi TNM Super League
As the fight for relegation survival continues, Fisds Wizards head into their TNM Super League clash with Mighty Be Forward Wanderers, knowing that there’s nowhere to hide if they are going to stumble.
The new rookies will play the Nomads on Sunday at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
Fisds are still stuck in the tail of the log table with 21 points from 25 games, and any defeat will mean disaster in their bid to escape relegation zone.
Fisds coach Peter Mponda is aware should his side drop points on Sunday, they should be facing the exit of the flagship league.
Wizards assistant coach Mac Donald Yobe told Nyasa Times on that the team will put their goal scoring woes behind them at the Kamuzu Stadium Arena.
“I have the confidence that we will bounce back after Tigers woes when we lost 1-0.”
However, the current struggles of Fisds attackers -13 goals at home this season so far – tells its own story.
In another crunch encounter on Friday, Azam Tigers will host another side which is descending to relegation Airborne Rangers. Kamuzu Stadium is the venue.
This is a must win game for the Salima based soldiers, who are on position 13 with 25 points from 26 games. Behind Airborne is Epac FC with 24 points from 26 games.
