About 75 orphaned children at Nansolo orphanage in the squatter Ndirande township of commercial city Blantyre received a timely donation of Likuni Phala and Sugar from the Young Patriots of the People’s Party (PP).

The donation was presented to Nansolo Orphanage by the Director of Youth for the Southern Province of the Peoples Party, Lemani Chapitapansi.

Chapitapansi said that the PP Young Patriots felt it was important to make the donation to the needy children at the orphanage which is in dire need of food, clothing and toys for the children especially during this festive season.

He said “This is our way of cheering up these needy children who also deserve to smile during Christmas.”

Nansolo orphanage was established in 2008 and is run solely on the contributions from various members of the community but at this time when times are hard for many Malawians the children have been the most affected.

Thompson Mpandeni the Director of the orphanage thanked the Young Patriots for the timely donation but also appealed to other well wishers to come forward and assist the orphans.

The ceremony was attended by Orange Partners, Orange Intellectuals and Orange Achievers which all fall under the umbrella of the Peoples Party.

The donation was supported by the Vice President of Malawi Joyce Banda who is also the president of the Peoples Party.
