Youth Boxing Promotions Presents International Bouts on 28th April

Youth Boxing Promotions has organized five international bouts to be held on 28th April, 2024 in Lilongwe with a motive to entertain people along with main bout between Mussa Ajibu and Visser Ruann from South Africa.

Speaking during a media briefing on Saturday in Lilongwe, one of the Youth Boxing Promotions Founders Salim Chazama said it is high time that Malawians should experience, enjoy and support both local and international boxing games which will be held at Lzberg Sports and Leisure Centre.

Boxers from South Africa, Kenya, Zimbabwe and Democratic Republic of Congo DRC will spur with Malawian boxers like Mussa Ajibu who will fight Visser Ruann from South Africa, Alick Mwenda will take head on with Feancy Ntetu ( Canada), Freeman Mabvungwe from Zimbambwe expect to fight Lyton Awiloli from Kenya, Kudakwache Banda will come face-to-face against Lucien Botumbwe ( DRC) and Synoden Munyane versus Nyaswa Hwata from Zimbambwe.

“We have organized atleast 10 bouts in total, where others are local and amateur which shall spice up the day,” explained Chazama.

Meanwhile, Mavuto Zumani from Innobuild who are one of the sponsors explained that they decided to join the boxing promotion in order to support youths in the country as a large percentage find it difficult to earn a living.

On the other hand, Sales Representative for Nyasa Food Processing Company Jailosi Zacheus Mkwayukwayu expressed the need to get close to the development of sports in Malawi.

Mkwayukwayu said, “When contacted, we expressed our interest in the development of boxing in the country, and we urge other stakeholders to come in and support this sporting discipline.”

Youth Boxing Promotion was registered under Malawi Professional Boxing Control Board in 2022 and its aim is to ensure that youths in the country are given a game time that will help to show case their talents for the betterment of themselves and the country as whole.

So far since establishment, the Promotion has had five bouts in total with four being international fights. “We cannot beat around the bush but quickly thank companies and all stakeholders who have been giving us a hand of help in organizing such activities.”
