“We want to launch our album in Malawi because we have a lot of funs there so it’s one way of appreciating them and our relationship between the two countries. At one point it was one country. With the support of Wendy ‘Sizzla’ Harawa that’s the reason why the launch is possible,” explained Orga Family’s spokesperson Jack Tembo in an interview from Zambia.
The duo, which comprises of Orga Kent (Kent Singoyi) ,Org Rex ( Rex Singoyi) is expected to be in the country next week Wednesday for the launch to be curtain-raised by Lucius anda, Lulu, Dan Lu and Wendy Harawa among others.
Kabende has 16 tracks including a Jazz version of the popular Munsomba from the previous Koka Kola album. Ngati Muli Na Ine, a gospel reggae song opens the track listing on the album.
Kampasa, Mwana and Train follows and the songs with a message of love.
“As for the song Train, we have done a video, which was produced by Malawian video maker, Chipiliro Khonje. This is our way of recognizing the talent people in this country have. There are a lot of good songs in the album and we hope people will love them just as they did with our previous songs.
“This will be our fourth time to perform in Malawi. We expect people to patronize our album launch in numbers as they always do. We are ready to show them some new performances and new songs as well. This time we will show them what the Orga family is made of,” added Tembo.
Songs like Picture, Kenako (Chove Chove), Bopeni, Body Lotion and Facebook are irresistible dance floor filler numbers that have helped the album sell a reasonable number of copies since its release over two months ago.
