Malawiana,MPs get good incomes and therefore, they can easily buy these laptops if they are patriotic enough to their voters who are struggling to feed their families. We are seeing MPs buying cars that in other developing countries Ministers can not afford to own.We are loosing people in hospitals for lack of medicines and hospital workers are paid peanuts while they are working hard to seve the lives of our people, while these shameless and womaniser MPs, spend their salaries like drunken-soldiers.Use tax-payers’ funds diligently to meet people’s requirements.
no smoke without fire what is happening is is corruption or something to do with mp . uku ndiye timati kukanika kuyankhula a malawi while zinthu zikuonongeka.
If all the MP were hard working like Lunguzi Malawi will be somewhere?
Most of the MPS only work a few months before Elections.
Please give those laptops to schools not MPS. Thank you.
Nyasatimes are not complaining. They are simply informing the nation. Guys please do not politicize everything.
why vat?? Are govt and NGOs, diplomatic proprerty charged VAT?
Did the tendering process appear anywhere in the newspaapers or rather open?
Imeneyi ndi nkhani?
MP atakhala wozindikira kufunika kwa laptop atha kupeza njira yozigulira yekha laptop yo monga mmnene timachitira ife alimi pogula zipangizo zolimira kumunda. Apa zikungosonyeza kuti ku Parliament ko simukhala serious. Ma laptop amenewo mukanapeleka mma ofesi a boma, ku police ndi mmalo ena komwe akusowekera. Bwana APM mukuti bwanji pamenepa anyamata anutu alowa zibwana ku parliament ko.
Another lame way of spending our hards earned money, all the money these people get for sleeping on the job, you mean to say they cant afford to get a simple cheap to get just to google things? I Bet 99% of these people also have smart phones and yet they have google there too and they dont use it at all. We have civil servants in government office who legitimately cant do their work because they need this technology, visit the DC’s offices they are still using paper based records to conduct their day to day business. I dont think this is a justifiable expenditure for these funds, there are definately better ways of spending that kond of money. people are losing their lives in Hospitals because they dont have simple medicines and you rich good for nothing recycled politician need these fancy Laptop and mind you once you start this kind of expenditure that mean every five years you will be making buying new Laptops and the prices will keep going up because of our struggling economy. Lets try to priotise our public expenditure. Taxes pain us when we are being deducted. Mxii.
if people are complaining of a k450,000 laptop then Malawi is not ready for multi party democracy. we should go back to 1 party dictatorship! how can the MPs work efficiently without a laptop amangwetu!!!
useless
The bid price is 112million for 193 laptops I think the writer did not use his calculator well. I wonder where is the cost of 1.1million coming from?
Nyasa, which market value are you talking about? This was an open tender. Chilichonse suspicious basi. Kagwere uko ndi kaduka kakoko.
A laptop costs about half the Globe Internet price. Someone is benefiting here. I wonder who?
By the way, was this done throughways the normal procurement process?
Our MPs would not question even if the gadget cost K2 million. They still can’t get it into their heads that our hospitals have no drugs or that lots of schools have no desks.
Poor Malawi!!!!
Monumental fools.
Life styles of Most of our MPs are not quite digital. Tell me its a donation…These guys need a basic laptop of a cheap brand. Have you bought Apple laptops? for an MP who does not even know the parliament website and the website that does not get updated on time? Up to now the budget statement is not loaded….what a waste…
