Malawi off to Lusaka, confident of beating ‘She-polopolo’

An eighteen Malawi women’s national football team left for Lusaka, Zambia on Wednesday to play She-Chipolopolo on Saturday in  an Africa Cup qualifiers encounter. The team left via Chileka Airport.

In an interview with Nyasa Times before departure for Lusaka, Malawi’s coach Temwa Msuku said he
expects a tough game but thinks they can win the game at Nkoloma Stadium.

“I have no doubt that our girls will make us proud because the morale is high in the camp. We need to beat Zambia in order to stand a better chance in the second leg at home,”said Msuku who it tactician of Super League side, Mafco.

The squad is comprised of many veterans like DD Sunshine captain Chisomo Kadzisonga, Tisadane Bokosi, Thoco Mwase and Linda Kasenda.

His counterpart for Zambia, Besa Chibwe told Times of Zambia that they wants to start the year on a winning note.

“We are taking this game seriously and we are doing everything possible,we are taking an advantage of this game to give Zambian people a good result,” he was quoted in the Times of Zambia.
