KB warned not to rest on laurels: Malawi TNM Super League

Kamuzu Barracks Coach, Billy Phambala has warned his players to guard against complacency as the TNM Super League leaders travel to Mzuzu on Friday to take on Karonga United.

KB coach Billy Phambala : No complacency

Phambala’s side secured a victory by winning 2-0 against Blue Eagles on Sunday and they stand a better chance to be crowned champions for the first time if they take six points in their two matches against Karonga and Dwangwa.

It is a must win game for Kamuzu Barracks, who have 55 points with Nyasa Big Bullets coming second with 54 points.

However, Phambala does not want his players to rest on their laurels, especially with the two matches, against supposedly inferior teams, coming up over the festive period.

“It’s more difficult for us to continue this way than for our opponent. All l want from my boys is not to get carried away because anything can happen at this critical time of the League,” he said.

All-too-familiar questions about courage, backbone and durability surround Nyasa Big Bullets ahead of their Friday match against relegation bound Civil Service United (Civo) at Kamuzu Stadium.
