Mtetemera officially fired as Dwangwa coach

Struggling and relegation threatened TNM Super League outfit Dwangwa United has finally officially fired its head coach Macdonald ‘Nginde’ Mtetemera.

Dwangwa coach MC Donald Mtetemera: Fired

The coach was suspended mid last month with the management citing poor run of form as the main reason.

Other reports indicated there was a fall out between the coach and some of the players forcing the management to suspend the coach.

But Mtetemera argued there were a lot of politics happening behind the scenes.

General Secretary Samson Zimba confirmed Nginde’s firing.

“Infact we have been discussing the matter and at the end of the day, we just concluded that we part ways with him” said Zimba.

He however could not speak out the reasons behind Mtetemera’s firing.

“Most of the reasons are in-house issues that I cannot disclose in the public but I can assure you that we are just finalizing some few
things but we have already informed him,” he added.

Zimba said at the meantime, they will maintain Lloyd Nkhwazi as the Caretaker Coach.

On his part, Nginde confirmed being verbally informed by the General Secretary on behalf of the entire club executive committee.

He revealed he has agreed to have his contract terminated.

“I have agree that my contract be terminated but I know the decision was made out of personal hatred. I have always told you that there is politics amongst the executive members so I am not surprised. I will forge ahead as I forsee a bright future in me” said Mtetemera.

Dwangwa is currently on second position from the bottom of the 16 member log table with eight points from 13 games.

They had a worst outing last weekend conceding nine goals in two defeats the biggest one being a 6-1 thumping against Civil Sporting
Club.
