MP Bisnowaty booted from own constituency for ‘lies’
Irate residents living in Area 25 of Malawi’s capital in Lilongwe on Friday chased away their legislator, David Bisnowaty, for allegedly not delivering on his campaign promises.
Nyasa Times understands that Bisnowaty—of Jewish descent—was in the area with plans to woe the constituents so that they re-elect him for the May 2019 tripartite elections.
He is MP for Lilongwe City Central constituency.
“But when he arrived people, especially, the youth turned up against him forcing him to flee the place,” an eye-witness told Nyasa Times.
He added: “Residents from the area are not satisfied with lack of projects like roads in the area as per promised by their parliamentarian.”
The legislator, who was elected as an independent but later defected to the governing Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), was reportedly whisked away by a well-wisher.
He left his posh car behind.
With just nine months to the elections, most MPs are likely to experience the same for failure to deliver their campaign promises

The excitement that prevailed over the coming in of his gentleman and Rumphi West parlimentary who is from Holland Jacqueline Kouwenhoven, on political landscape in the two respective constituencies, is akin to the excitement that SKC has brought to entire country. Unfortunately, people from these two constituencies had wide expectations from misplaced promises from then these two parliamentary candidates. I fear this may be the experience of SKC presidency should he prevail on the presidential front.

You could called so called Good politician but in real politics it does not work like that, when you don’t deliver you are shown the door and there is no mercy. Your good character does not solve people’s problems. Get down and dirty and that is the language well understood in politics

Mainly people are angry with the party he defected having known kuti, onse ndi mbava and nobody is being arrested ,they are hiding behind the, president.

If the ru.ing party and other MPs think that this is going to be an isolated case, then they haven’t been paying attention. Malawians ayamba kudzuka. This is no time for MPs or head of state to take people for granted and make promises they know they won’t deliver. Throwing stones is going to be equivalent to being kicked out through the ballot. Why did the reporter mention that David is from jewish decent? What has the religious belief of a person got to do with this article? This guy has done a lot for the people of this country and he uses a lot of his own money for projects. I don’t like politicians but this is one guy that i know is trying his best

This is true. Mr. Bisonowat was stoned by youth at Msungwi, area 25. He was lying that very soon the road from area 49 boundary ro Dzenza Secondary school will be tarmarked using his own resources. This irked people who attended his rally. They started shouting and stoning him.
This is welcome move to Members of Parliament who take Malawians for granted
Yes, correct i reside in the area and he was really chased at Nsungwi market. His Hammer was left behind. He was welcomed but when he mentioned construction of roads, the residents became angry and wanted to girigisha him a bit.
He who works with dpp is a thug. He who works for dpp is a thief. Don’t even trust Chilima. There are no roads in old Gulliver, Shire, Dubai, Area 50 etc. The road from Kaunda road to Dzenza is pathetic and should be named Alamu Pumani Mwalamba highway. The tarmac road passing through Area 39 proper was scrapped during Bakili reign and has never been resurfaced. All APM is doing is stealing from contractors like Plem, Mota-Engil, Sawa and Master Construction. We have thugs. Don’t trust Chilima. The guy is selfish.

If you’ve ever driven on that road to Msungwi during rainy season, you will understand why people are upset. Mbava should start packing. Bravo to the people.
