DD Sunshine still top Central Region women football league pile
DD Sunshine senior claimed a 13-0 comfortable win over One Goal Queens in a thrilling Central Region Women Football League (CRWFL) match played at Nankhaka Stadium.
DD Senior dominated from start to the end within 15 minutes as Tabitha Chawinga had already scored 3 goals. Linda Kasenda increased the tally and Ratiphar Malunjika scored after One Goal’s defence was caught off-guard to make it 5-0.
One Goal had a lot of work to do as the defence comprises of Cathy Baison, Ivy Banda, Edith Banda and Ellen Sokanya failed to stop the striking force of Chawinga and Kasenda.
In the second half both teams came with changed minds as One Goal was looking a goal. The combination of Omega Kapulukira, Gladys Malaisha, and Chifundo Mwimba played their lungs out to supply the balls upfront but Tiko Zidana and Atupele Munlo failed to find the goal.
Thus when DD came flat out to score seven goals
Following the win DD Sunshine extended their lead at the top to six point’s gap.
Coach for One Goal Queens Yasin Zidana blamed the loss due to lack of experience among his players and also lack of concentration contributed to the negative results.
While his counterpart Shadreck Chikhosi was delighted with the win .
“It is important to be at the top at the moment – this is very important,”Chikhosi said.
In another game Abramo Queens beat St John’s Queens 2-0 the game that also played at the same pitch.
