DD Sunshine to join CAF competition
Sponsor of newly crowned champions of Central Region Women`s Football League DD Sunshine senior, David Dube, has unveiled ambitious plans to join Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League.
DD Senior, who claimed many titles including Standard Bank and Presidential Initiative on Sports, has relatively shown interest to showcase in major league.
But in interview with Nyasa Times, Dube – a football coach by training – said he is still consulting the corporate world on the issue and many has shown interest to help the team financially.
“We will beef up the squad with both local and foreign players. We may have to sign another two more professional players from countries such as South Africa and Zambia apart from Melisa Krnjaic who will be leaving for Washington DC in August,” he said
DD Senior is coached by former Big Bullets and Wanderers player Shadreck Chinkhosi.
It has top players Linda Kasenda, Tabitha Chawinga, Ratiphar Malunjika, Bridget Mkuzilire Longesi Zidana and Captain Chisomo Kazisonga.
