Chayang’ana successfully launches ‘Ndinu Woyera’ album
Musician Charles Chayang`ana, who is also a pastor, finally launched his latest album ‘Ndinu Woyera’ at the International Christian Assembly (ICA) Marquee in Lilongwe last Sunday.
The show received a huge support from Lilongwe fans that came to witness the unveiling of the 10-track CD, a manifestation that he is nothing but a talented man who combines preaching and music.
Coming back after a two-year break from the studios and public performance, the Pastor proved that it was worthy the recess and that his homework in the two years was well calculated.
In an interview at the end of the show, the Pastor showered all the praise and thanks to God, saying, “I thank God for making it possible.”
“It was a good show and I’m glad I have launched the album with such overwhelming support from the people. They came in large numbers and I must say without them, this would not have been a good show,” he said.
He further thanked companies like Cartridge Masters, Fire Flex Services, CAN Radio, Trans World Radio and other companies for supporting the show.
Apart from entertainment, the show also had its share of drama when a young man named Moses John stormed the stage, pushing Chayang`ana as he tried to snatch the microphone from him.
His intentions were not known, though others described him as “a messenger of the devil who wanted to cause a commotion at the show.” He was quickly taken out of the Marquee and the Pastor was not disturbed by the incident as he continued dishing out songs from his albums.
Among the supporting acts that also performed were Mlaka Maliro, Peter Sambo, Harry Tsegula, Vincent ‘Advisor’ Kadzakumanja, The Marvellous Deeds, Great Angels Choir, Chikondi Buleya and other artists.
The show was filmed by MC Studios and will be put on DVD which is expected to be put on the market.
