Ethel Kamwedo launches ‘Wazatheka Bwanji’ DVD

Renowned female gospel musician Ethel Kamwendo-Banda launched her ‘Ambuye Wazatheka Bwanji’ DVD and CD on Sunday at Comesa Hall in Blantyre.

The DVD features some of the scene on her UK tour. She is captured  riding with Malawian  christian women in Leeds.

In an interview with Nyasa Times after her successful launch, Kamwendo -Banda was delighted with the large turn up and promised more fireworks in Lilongwe and Mzuzu.

“This is encouraging, and l promise to give my best to fans. Without their support we are nothing, “said the gospel diva.

The female artist encouraged Malawians to buy original DVD by avoiding pirated ones.

“I urge my fans to buy original DVD’S not pirated ones. With this technology, many people pirate CD’s and DVD’S which is a bad habit. My appeal to Malawians is to make sure that they have original DVD in their houses,” said Kamwendo, whose show was also graced by a cabinet Minister John Bande.

During the launch, many gospel artists like Grace Chinga, Frank Chimpazi and Ndirande Anglican Voices performed before Kamwendo.

Kamwendo also revealed that the next stop f or another launch will be on October 30th at Marquee in Lilongwe before proceeding to Mzuzu.

In Mzuzu, the launch will take place on November 6  at Katoto Secondary School.

However, during Sunday’s launch, many people who graced the show complained of poor ventilation at the venue.

Moffat Phiri, a Manja residence said,” it is too hot inside, that you cannot even dance freely. I think it is high time the owners of this place do something as far as ventilation inside this room is
concerned.”

Rose Bandawe, from Machinjiri Township, wondered why all the air conditioners were not functioning.

“The hall is fully parked yet all air conditioners are not functioning. Next time they should change otherwise people will think twice before coming at this venue again,” said Bandawe.

Some of Kamwendo Banda’s other albums include Amen Yesu Wandimasula, Hosanna, Yesu Amayankha, Sindili Ndekha and   Ndiumboni.
