Airtel Malawi stops offering Blackberry daily subscriptions

Airtel Malawi subscribers, who use Blackberry smart phones, will now be coughing more to access the company’s Blackberry internet services.blackbery

Meanwhile, some subscribers are failing to come to terms with the company’s decision to discontinue Blackberry Daily Subscriptions effective September 13.

The company has been providing daily Blackberry Social Solution (BSC) and Blackberry Complete Solution (BCS) services that saw subscribers using about K100 for unlimited internet access for 24hours.

The subscribers will only be offered weekly and monthly Blackberry services whose fees have also been highly adjusted.

Subscription for Weekly Blackberry Social Solution has been adjusted to K4,000, Blackberry Complete solution K5000 and Blackberry Internet Solution K6000.

While monthly subscription for Blackberry Social Solution has pegged K14,000, Blackberry Complete Solution at K15,000 and K17,000 for Blackberry Internet Solution. Whereas Blackberry Enterprises service is K18,000 a month.

“This is too much, in fact its day light robbery,” said one subscriber, Glory Cathy Chimpikizo.

Another subscriber, Amos Phiri observed that the announced subscriptions are exorbitant and scary.

According to him, the company has not done any justice to most young people who have been enjoying Blackberry daily subscriptions.

This service is always on and off and why should we be paying these exorbitant prices and what for? Check you database if you will still have an upper hand in terms of customers. Am changing the phone which I bought from and will reprogramme it to run on TNM frequency or… Read more »
