Airtel netball trophy regional level set for this weekend
Airtel Netball Championship in all the four regions of Malawi is set be played this weekend, the Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) through its General Secretary Carol Bapu has announced.
According to Bapu, two teams will be selected from each region to join the top eight teams from all the three regions as well who already qualified.
The NAM G.S said the national finals for the prestigious trophy will be played between 18th and 20th April 2014.
She said the finals will be played in Lilongwe but could not specify the venue.
“The finals will be played in Lilongwe but we are yet to decide on the venue” said Bapu on Wednesday.
Recently, Bapu in an interview said she is delighted with the proceedings of the competition particularly on district level.
She said the competition helped to identify some promising talent.
Airtel Malawi dropped landmark sponsorship and signed an agreement that will last for three years with NAM in September last year to the tune of K360 Million.
Out of the said amount, K120 Million was meant to help the Malawi national netball team the queens.
