APM, Chakwera and Gawa Undi attend Chief Chanza’s wedding

Malawi President Aurther Peter Mutharika (APM), leader of opposition Lazarus Chakwera and Chewa influential king, Kalonga Gawa Undi, on Saturday attended the wedding of the youthful Senior Chief Chadza at his Msozi Traditional Headquarters, located 19 Kilometers south of the capital Lilongwe.

Mutharika was seen several times relaxes and smiling alongside First Lady and a hoard of Democratic Progressive Party(DPP) official, while Chakwera looked calm and composed throughout the whole function as he was accompanied by a contingent of senior Malawi Congress Party loyalists.

Gawa Undi was also seen very attentive and followed almost each and every detail of the program while surrounded by his traditional ministers culturally known as Ndunas.

The wedding was colourful and conducted in a traditional Chewa style.

President Mutharika gave the new couple a K500, 000 gifts while the Chewa Chief and the entire Chewa people also gave various gifts to the new couple.

His Majesty Kalonga Gawa Undi, who came in the country on Saturday from Zambia, is being accompanied by 31 member delegation comprised of senior chiefs and other traditional leaders from Zambia.
