Apostle Ziba set to do ‘Bushiri style’: Hires Malawi Police, army for parade in Blantyre

Fountain of Victory and Illumination Assembly’s founding leader, Apostle Joseph Ziba is set to do what Prophet Shepherd Bushiri did in Mzuzu which triggered controversy by hiring Malawi police brass band in a city parade that church is set to hold in Blantyre.

According to announcement, Apostle Ziba’s church will from Thursday 15 October to Sunday 18th October, will be celebrating its third anniversary calling it ‘Breakout 2015 – beyond limits’.

While Bushiri hired police brass band and hundreds of police officers, Apostle Ziba wants to up his game by including the Army band.

The church posters about the event say the street parade will be “global prophetic march.”

They will start from Kudya to Kamuzu Stadium where there shall also be gospel performances by top artists.

The anniversary church services will however be held at Comesa Hall, the church said.

After Bushiri’s successful crusade in Mzuzu, some senior police officers have been punished for the presidential-like security that they accorded the ‘Major 1’.

  1. I do not see any problems with hiring security to safeguard themselves because we should know that the men of God are like you and me, can be killed buy thugs and any other bad people. It does not mean that they are immuned to death buy doing Godly things. No. They should indeed hire security of their choice for their dear lives

Things are not fine here, the Army Commander failing to run the show with his self imposed CO whose a junior Major, things are in a mess here, they need deliverance please come. Zikuwakanika kuno, munthu how can you be a CO when your wife is a prostitute caught red handed with MP, and what will she advise soldiers wives?   38. I think thas a better move to increase revenue. Most of the time our police personels just seat down and receive after month. I would like even all of the well doing people to start hirering our police and army for their events, and late the government generat income on this.   40. If people do not see anything wrong with this then something is seriously wrong with Malawi. Police and Army are there to ensure order and safety for the general public. If the so called man of god otherwise known as con man want extra security, let them pay for private security. This promotes corruption when a private individual or entity pays money to use public resources for private gain.

    What is the difference between this and a motorist paying a traffic officer to forgive a traffic offence? None… they are both paying a public officials for a personal gain!

    Petty crimes are on the increase, why should our taxes go to subsidize the security of one individual who is not even an elected government official or designee.

  42. Parades are common even in West Africa where the police Band even plays Xmas carols on people’s door steps and then paid something. There is nothing strange here. This is the evidence that these so called men of God are their for fame and monitory gains nothing else. Jesus wanted to see God, His Father glorified in His miracles but today the motive is different. Self enrichment at its best.   58. If these are there for hire why shouldn’t he be allowed? As long as he pays money that is fine. People have in the recent past hired tents, recovery vehicles etc from government departments, what is strange with hiring the same entity in human resources form? Allow him to go ahead and then utilise the proceeds for a good cause, ie buying or refurbishing outdated equipment or improving the existing ones.

Living Waters Church had a Jesus March from Old Town downtown Blantyre to Kamuzu Stadium recently during their 30th Anniversary before the Bushiri thing and they hired the Malawi Prison Brass Band and many policemen. This is normal people and it is not like its just starting now, it started a long time ago and it is normal for churches to hire the brass band and policemen during such events. The IG needs to do a bit of public relations stint with the Malawians to cover up his over-reaction to Bushiri.

  74. Befor Bushiri hiring the band and parade Apostle Joseph Ziba was the first last year and manymore did this before and from my Knowledge Buahiri the major1 is being criticized by hiring 100 police officers to provide security not for the band.

What is sad about many churches is that while they are packed to capacity, Christ himself is outside the door knocking wanting to get in. Then you wonder what these people doing inside the church when Christ himself is outside
