Atupele waxed lyrical about serving Malawi after Cabinet dissolution

Former Minister of Health Atupele Muluzi, who is also the presidential torchbearer for the United Democratic Front (UDF) in the Tuesday  May 21 2019 Tripartite Elections has bid farewell to colleagues at the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the rest of the Malawians after serving as Minister for five years in the  President Peter Mutharika’s administration.

Atupele Muluzi: UDF presidential candidate says it was an honour to serve

Muluzi, who was appointed Health and Population Minister in July 2017, said it feels great that he served in the most critical portfolio of government and was indebted to the appointing authority.

“As the Cabinet dissolves today [15th May 2019] ahead of this year’s tripartite elections I wanted to take this opportunity to thank His Excellency the President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika for his leadership and confidence.

“It has been an honour to serve our country in each of the roles that I have had over the last 5 years and I hope that I am able to serve our country further with the leadership, passion and energy required to further develop our country for the benefit of everyone in our beautiful country,” said Muluzi in a brief statement.

The UDF leader believes during his tenure of office, he has delivered to the satisfaction of all Malawians and that there is still a room for improvement.

According to youthful Muluzi, the health of Malawians is the cornerstone of development.

“We have achieved so very much and I am very aware there is, and always will be more to do to ensure we are able to deliver quality healthcare to all Malawians that is free for all at the point of access. The health of Malawi is a cornerstone of our development from poverty, the growth of our economy and our success as a nation. With an ever growing population the costs for this commitment grow as well. It is vital that we all take responsibility for protecting ourselves and our families to reduce the burden on our healthcare services – prevention is always cheaper than cure,” he said.

Furthermore, Muluzi has asked Malawians to vote for him to lead Malawi in next week’s elections so that he continues with his developmental agenda’s while serving as President.

Mutharika dissolved all ministerial Cabinet positions effective 15th May 2019.

if you were admitted in one of the districts hospitals or even central hospitals you could have considered your claims as a Minister of Health.
