Auditor arrested for beating his three dogs to death
A 40-year-old private practicing auditor, John Gawanani Banda of Ndirande Township on Monday had a rude awakening when he was picked by police for beating his three dogs.
Blantyre Police Publicist, Augustus Nkhwazi said Banda beat his dogs to death at a time he was taking them to veterinary at Blantyre Society for Protection and Care of Animals (BSPCA).
“It is said that the dogs were giving him problems to get into his car. Instead he started kicking them mercilessly. It was when he got to the veterinary when it was discovered that two of the dogs have died,” explained Nkhwazi.
The dogs, according to Nkhwazi died to fractured skull and spinal injury respectively.
“One male puppy which had bleeding nose and mouth and a wound on pelvis was treated with pain relief medications, died Tuesday morning.”
Officials from the Blantyre Society for Protection and Care of Animals where the ones that reported the incident to Ndirande Police Sub – Station.
Banda currently on bail has been charged with Cruelty against animals’ contrary to Section 3 (a)(b) Cap 66:01 of the Laws of Malawi.

If the Police were able to swiftly deal with animal cruelty cases, how come they are unable to arrest criminals who are looting, killing albinos, killing each other and beating up spouses to pap. This is a true example of Police being in politicians’ pockets. They just look the other way. I bet the Auditor (after passing on the brown envelope) will be acquitted for lack evidence despite the fact the dogs are clearly dead. The investigator will “fail” to prove that the crime was linked to the auditor……..case closed!
