Bullets, Wanderers get  Marcopolo luxury coaches from Mutharika: ‘Personal money’

President Peter Mutharika has bought Marcopolo luxury coaches for domestic football powerhouses—Nyasa Big Bullets and Be Forward Wanderers— and the the buses arrived in the country on Thursday.

A similar bus has been bought for Wanderers and Bullets

Presidential press secretary Mgeme Kalilani said the buses were being branded for the two teams.

“Marcopolo coaches have been bought with  President Mutharika’s  personal money and not government,” said Kalilani.

President Mutharika responded to requests made by the two clubs during the launch of their stadia projects.

Responding to the requests from the two teams to buy them buses during last Saturday’s function, the President said: “Funso la mabasi… Mabasi tikupatsani lero. Bus imodzi kwa Big Bullets, bus ina kwa Be Forward Wanderers.”

However, the two teams did not get the buses on the same day as promised as his officials identified two]small 16-seater Hino buses and the State President said no.

He wanted bigger buses and that is when the Marcopolo coaches were identified.

  1. The from of the bus says Higer. And the words Manoma are clearly juxtaposed on the picture. A very poor photoshop job

  2. Is this a Banana Republic? Where is accountability? What is the source of this “personal money”? How much was he, his wife, or his bodyguard worth before he became president? Lets not tolerate nonsense.

  3. Or atachoka pampando musaganize ngati asanduka mphawi ngati inu amene mukutukwana apapa ayi please. Uja zake zinayera kalekale mungozivutapo chabe apa. Munthu amakhala wabwino akapita or akamwalira

  6. What interests me is the fact that, both teams players and officials will vote for Tonse alliance since they know that this is just a campaign bait
Dzulo ku njamba I met some Bullets players and officials who assured me that they can’t vote for dpp simply because of a bus..
Apm had been in this country since Bingu era.
When did he realise that Bullets and Wanderers have no buses.
    Za ziiiìiii !!

  7. It’s good that you’re giving back to the people some of the public funds you have been stealing through dubious loans to Mulli and inflated procurements at ESCOM as well as MERA. Bullets ndi team yapfuko so we deserve a piece of the pie. But don’t cheat illiterate Malawians that this was your personal money. You ca fool some people sometimes but you can’t fool all the people all the time! You still deserve to be investigated when your immunities are lifted so that you can pay back every Tambala to where it belongs- the people of Malawi. Mfiti yopanda mano iwe!

  8. Mutharika doesn’t have personal money. All he has comes from taxpayers or at taxpayers expense. He was poor as a college professor so where did he get his personal money from? After all buses are not that expensive on Befoward.com. Check them out. Bwanji Ndirande sinamulandire last week? Did you see SKC yesterday? DPP iwona nyekhwe!

    1. President aliyense akakhala pampando amakhala amampatsa budget for social corporate responsibility moti kaya ndi ndani ndi ndani amagwiritsa ntchito thumba limeneli baba ndiye ma previlegewo kkkk. so inu mtima mmalo mukamamva boma ndi limenelo

    2. Muthalika inherited bingu’s properties ……….that made him one of the richest people in malawi from 2013

  9. Idiots what personal money?that’s tax payers money.Thats a fool of a president.People are dying in hospitals without meds and you are using your cheap propaganda using tax payers money buying buses

  10. whether it’s photoshop or not talandira thanks bwana president…as for our votes forget. where r the roads to drive these sophisticated buses, where are schools to get the football talents from, the worst part of it all is when the players get injured they have no where to be treated so mr president you was supposed to fix the basic things first….better medical treatment for our players because in football injuries is the order of the day…..the crooks who you r surrounded with are giving you crazy ideas,
this is a misplaced priority I guess a mere gesture of campaign a chair anawachenjeretsa anthu ask bakili bullets it was dumped like a whole once beaten……
thanks for the buses but no voting for you
    talandila

  11. These pictures are fake don’t be cheated there are no buses for Wanderers and Bullets .Noma and Bullets don’t let politicians use you .

  12. Thank you for the buses and we will remember you good gesture after we vote you out on 23rd June! Buying the buses does not take away the fact the May 2019 elections were messed up by MEC to favour you

  13. Please clarify on the personal money, do you mean tax payers money?!?

I don’t think with the current government there is a line between personal money, tax payers money and donor grants and loans…

Where did the COVID-19 money go? Maybe some buses…

      1. Where did he get the capital from paja salary sidutsa k2m tudziwa. He doesn’t have personal money at all it’s all our taxes, even the elder brother accumulated our taxes too. There’s no president in Malawi who has ever accumulated clean wealth.

  14. A quick look for 2nd hand Marco Polo coaches from SA is 1,500,000 rand or $87,000 or k65 million each. My only thought is good for the local clubs BUT SUCH a WASTE that THE PRESIDENT was NOT so Generous to build the Mutharika Primary School Block or Medical Clinic which would have had lasting and benefited so many more people for many many years……… THAT’S WHY am voting UTMCP misplaced priorities

    1. You always find something to cry about. Should all development of all kinds stop just because we die everyday? Surely you can think better my fellow Malawian

      1. Tell them……chilima had nothing when he was joining politics n today if u look around u will see that the guy has made a lot only that blind loyalty is fooling u……the president u r talking had inherited estates from his brother…..Joyce Banda is also Rich n she’s in the tonse alliance y don’t u point fingers at her? Chilima’s kid is at an expensive xul whose fees is enough to pay for almost 300pupils in district secondary schools who r dropping out recently …..y doesn’t he support them?

  15. Thanks for the buses but my vote goes to tonse alliance. We know the money you have used were gotten in a corrupt manner. No need to give credit to a criminal.

  16. Good show Mr.President others Ministers,MPs etc with money should follow help the poor not just eating alone with your families Blessed is the hand that giveth.BB and Manoma take care of the buses this is a good opportunity once in a while.Whether it is a political move doesn’tr matter when the politicians give out something we have to receive and say thank you.Vote is like a war you use any weapon available what is important at the end of day is to win.Wishing all the candidates good luck

  17. Landilani, ndalama zokuba izi. Will you also please help the old man in moving his stuff from sanjika to ndata on Wednesday?

    1. Jamax, does God bless a thief just because he has shared his stolen items with the community?
In the court of law, will the judges give a thief a lenient sentence just because he shared his loot? Lawyers please help us

    1. Ndalama zokuba zomwezi.
Matchona anabwera ali mbuuu!!! Opanda ndi nyumba yomwe mu town olo ku mudzi.

      1. That’s very true it’s photoshop and the buses are not marcopolo but ut Higer buses from China. And still you can’t order a bus from China and get to Malawi within a week. For a new bus buying from china it takes a minimum of 3 months to get here because they build it for you from scratch most often

      2. Thieves are like that. What he spent on the buses is too small compared to the money stolen. Kuchokera basi. Kaya kufuna kaya wusafune. You are going for ever.
