Carlsberg Chill new Malawi brewed beer unveiled: Pictorial

Carlsberg Malawi on Friday unveiled the new brewed locally larger beer called Carlsberg Chill.

During the launch of the beer which took place at the Mustang Sally in Blantyre, Carlsberg Malawi Commercial Director Allen Mcinnes said the brand is “Malawi’s first locally produced premium beer.”

He said the company has responded to consumer trends and developed a beer which consumers really do find refreshing and appealing.

“Consumer tastes are ever changing and consumers are becoming more and more sophisticated and demanding more and more premium products. It is with this in mind that we took a decision to strengthen our portfolio and introduce a locally developed and produced premium beer,” he said.

Chill is a crisp, light refreshing beer with an alcohol volume of 4%.

It is brewed from the finest ingredients with a dash of pure Malawian brilliance and packaged in a Carlsberg embossed green bottle.

The label is thermocromic that changes colour according temperature. When chilled the silver borders on the word chill turn blue.

“Chill is for those who wish to wind up, party and let loose after a hard day’s work,” said Mcinnes.

The company’s group marketing manager Gwyneth Mchiela said the new beer will be available in all beer selling outlets throughout the country.

During the launching ceremony a number of activities like performances from singers Piksy, Barry One, Armstrong, Elly K were conducted before the DJ entertained the audience that graced the ceremony.
