Catholic Church appoints new heads of CCJP, CADECOM: Chiphwanya and Mazanga
Catholic, the influential church in Malawi, has appointed Martin Chiphwana as National Secretary at the Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace (CCJP) and Martin Mazanga as National Secretary for Catholic Development Commission in Malawi (CADECOM).
Both appointments are with effect from 1 July 2016, accounting to an announcement by Secretary General of the Catholic Bishops at Episcopal Conference of Malawi (ECM), Fr Henry Saindi.
Saindi said the appointments were confirmed by the Catholic bishops during their June plenary session.
Unitl his appointment, Mazinga was sevring as project coordinator and acting national secretary for Cadecom.
Chiphwanya has also been acting on the position since Chris Chisoni left and joined Higher Education Students Loan and Grants Board as its Executive Director.
Governance activist Chiphwanya has been serving as project coordinator of CCJP, which is Catholic arm of Episcopal Conference of Malawi.
CCJP is one of the formidable institutions on economic and political governance .
