Namiwa has been abducted at Area 3 in Lilongwe a few hours after addressing journalists about tomorrow’s nationwide protests.

Namiwa: abducted

Edwin Mauluka, CDEDI Communications Coordinator, told Nyasa Times that a strange vehicle had been trailing Namiwa’s hiject from Crown Hotel where the presser took place from 2:30pm.

“Upon Area 3, the passengers of the vehicle hit Namiwa’s car from behind. And in no time, the assailants pounced on the unsuspecting Namiwa and pushed him into their vehicle,” said Mauluka.

Another colleague, Peter Namuonjeza, said he chased the assailants using Namiwa’s vehicle until Katete Farm where they took the footpath, which Namuonjeza could not follow.
