Chakwera informed K6.2bn Covid-19 money abuse report complete, calls for release
President Lazarus Chakwera has ordered auditing institutions to immediately release the K6.2 billion Covid-19 response funds abuse report.

The call comes at a time Malawians are demanding why the process of releasing the report seems to have stalled.
Chakwera says he expects auditing institutions to expedite the process of releasing to the public, a report into the alleged mismanagement of K6.2 billion allocation Treasury disbursed last August, barely two months after the Tonse Alliance administration led by President Chakwera took charge.
A statement from the State House says the President has now been informed of the completion of the audit.
“Since the audit was done independently and is of public interest, the President expects and urges auditing institutions to expedite the process and ensure the report is released to the public so that nothing is hidden”, writes Brian Banda, Presidential Press Secretary.
The Covid-19 response expenditure both under Tonse Alliance and Democratic Progressive Party has raised serious questions of accountability.
The Directorate of Public Prosecutions authorised Inspector General of Police to start an investigation into how funds have been plundered from March 2020—when the Democratic Progressive Party was in power to August 2020 when the new administration was in charge.

Should we trust him that the report is out? Kenako timva kuti ayi Report imeneyi ituluka month end, kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
I entirely agree with you Culture. The choice of Ministers in the present administration leaves a lot to be desired. Some speak as if they are reciting a poem while others struggle to articulate issues and cannot even tell the difference between health and healthy. Sorry I am not a supporter of DPP, but comparatively, APM had a quality choice of Ministers save for Mchacha whom I don’t like till today. Do you watch South African TV channels to see how knowledgeable Ministers are in SA and how they articulate issues? Here, sorry we have villagers as Ministers. Can anyone… Read more »
Not surprising that is the order for the present government. You can imagine a JC holder being given the post of director in this day and age to be boss to people with degrees. Stupid decisions.
Kkkkk!! Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda is Minister of Healthy?
Have we got a minister by the name Agness Nkusa Nkhoma? Never heard of her. She is Minister for what ministry?
Wish our ministers could speak and articulate issues the way Zimbabwean ministers do. Excellent speakers.
Don’t forget that Norman Chisale was the de facto of President Malawi from 2014 to 2020 while APM was just a figurehead.
Pa anthu onse mwangosankhako Agnes Nkusa Nkhomaq yekha basi?

This might be another nonsense from Brian Banda..we are now used to his garbage.i am not sure why the preaosent maintains such useless people at state house to speak for him..surely kampondeni and Brian Banda are very useless and too proud of themselves. They are busy shaming the president. I doubt if anything they say is told by the president because there is always inconsistency. Not surprising though bw ayse even the president has mastered the art of telling lies.
Out of jealousy
Normally a person chooses to work with someone of his level in scope. The way Chakwela is handling issues, no doubt their scope is the same and Chakwela can not see beyond that level. Just check the level of scope of Mkaka, Chimwendo Banda, Minister of finance and Zangazanga. The choice of people to work with can tell someone’s level of thinking. With this leadership Malawi is directionless.
What in the world are you talking about level of scope? Normal Chisale was in effect the de facto president of Malawi during APMs time in office when we saw Mchacha, Ben Phiri, Nankhumwa, Mwanamekha in powerful positions and unprecedented corruption that made Muluzi jealous.
