State vice president Everton Chimulirenji has moved swiftly to clear his name in illegal land grabbing and selling by firing his private guard who is suspected to be in the land grabbing syndicate.
Chimulirenji has fired Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) cadet Austin Nsopera who worked as private guard but has been named in land syndicate in Blantyre and surrounding districts.
The firing follows reports in social media last week that Nsopera used his connections to the office of the vice president to grab and sell the land thereby implicating Chimulirenji.
“He has been telling people that he is a personal assistant to the vice president. In some cases, he was telling people that the vice president had sent him to get land and this annoyed the vice president,” said Nyasa Times source in the office of the vice president.
Police are said to be investigating Nsopera and Malawians on various social media platforms are calling for the arrest and prosecution of Nsopera who is said to have even sold prime Malawi Housing Corporation land in Thyolo and other areas.
Nsopera is said to be working with some officials from the ministry of Lands.Follow and Subscribe Nyasa TV :
