Chinese President Xi Jinping has pledged his government disaster relief assistance to Malawi over severe flood disasters that have killed at least 200 in the country.
“China stands ready to assist Malawi in disaster relief,” Xi said in a message sent a to Malawian President Peter Mutharika.
“I believe that the Malawian people will overcome the natural disasters and rebuild their homeland under the leadership of the Malawian government,” the Chinese President added.
Torrential rains have caused enormous damage across half the impoverished southern African country, washing away homes, crops and livestock, and disrupting power supplies.
Xi also offered “condolences to all victims of the flood disasters.”
He also showed sincere sympathies to families of the victims and people suffering from the disasters.

Bravo China! Thanks in advance, we appreciate your donation it’s always without strings attached!
It is these things that make China Africa’s darling not zinanazi. In times of crises we always put aside our differences to achieve one goal. Some countries think Malawian NGOs as saints sent from above and cannot and will never abuse funds or aid. My foot big fools.
Only Chinnese govt will help genuinely others like the west, they will not if they do poke their nose in, then they will lecture you for a good one year without material help. Malawi need to wise up and stop bootlicking and wasting time to engage some of these governments.
Thanks China, let other countries in the BRICS emulate the same
Please Malawians, this assistance should reach the entended people not mlakho or mama.
God bless china
