Chipiku increase league sponsorship to K5 million

Chipiku stores who bankroll the Central Region football league m have increased its sponsorship from K3.2 million to K5 million.
This was announced at the 2011-2012 prize presentation ceremony at the Golden Peacock Hotel in Lilongwe on Saturday.

Chipiku Chief Operations Manager Ratesia Salian expressed satisfaction with the way the league is being run.

“We will continue supporting football and we are happy with the whole organization. We will sponsor this year with K5 million” said Salian in his brief speech.

FAM Executive Member Pikawo Ngalamila commended Chipiku for the sponsorship despite Malawi going through economic challenges.

Ngalamila said Chipiku league is having a big impact more especially in rural areas where the league is played.

He therefore called upon all Malawians to buy Chipiku products as a token of appreciation for the sponsorship.

“The only way to give back is to buy Chipiku products and if Chipiku grow bigger, know that our football wig get better,” he said.

Central Region Football league Vice Chairman Charles Kapichi cherished the six year relationship his committee has had with the sponsors.

Kamuzu Barracks received K380, 000.00 for being premier league champions, Dzaleka Leopard K110,000,00 for being Division One  champions while Dedza Strikers receiving K130, 000.00 for emerging champions in Division 2.

In individual awards, Potifara Ganiza of Nsundwe United was voted as the best player in the premier division and went away with K20, 000 and a Miniature. Noel Tchungu of Dzaleka Leopard and Chisomo Gideon of Dedza Strikers were the best in Division one and two respectively and went away with a K15, 000 each plus a miniature.

In the media awards, Nation Publications Limited Frank Kalilombe and Daily Times Precious Msosa were voted the best in the print category and went away with a K20,000 each plus a miniature.

In the electronic category, Zodiak’s Mike Bango, MIJ FM Williams Gondwa and MBC’s Frank Kaunda were awarded the best and went away with K20,000.
