DNA Comes Of Age, launches Mizizi album
Just like a good wine that tastes better with age, DNA has justifiably matured into a well-versed artist music fanatics have eagerly embraced- if Mukandipepesele is anything to go by.
With the launch of his debut album Mizizi this weekend, there is no other better time for DNA to endear himself with his fans than giving them a compilation of his astounding dose.
DNA born Daniel Kaliwo launches Mizizi album on 9th October at Chrichi Gardens with a list of urban artists set to spice up the show.
While he might have made his debut in 2011 as artist, the 2015-16 year has been a game changer for the Mukandipepesele singer who puts his fans first.
“I have a lot of expectations except for the fact that from a general stand, the same people that made me- who happen to be my fans- are the same people I am launching this album for,” said DNA in an interview.
“This is my way of saying ‘thank you’ for the support and accepting me as DNA. I hope they will support me as I am launching this album.”
The artist has since pledged not to disappoint his fans on the day of the launch, promising nothing but fireworks.
Mizizi CD contains 12 tracks which include hit-song Mukandipepesele.
Other songs in the album are Napepe, Umandimvetsa, Sugar, Kamodzi, Changa Si Icho, Sindingakuiwale, Promise to Marry, Bwenzi la Liuma, Jabulosi (Chilanga Mbeta), Mu Nthawi Yawo, Mpata and Anafela Mbuyo.
All songs were recorded at Matrix Records and produced by Emmanuel Sispence Phiri except Anafela Mbuyo which was produced at Pro Pee Records and Changa Si Icho recorded at Red Disc Studios.
DNA reveals he has worked on the album for almost four months- clearly a special gift for the fans indeed.
Following the launch over the weekend, the artist expects to embark on a country tour.
“It’s high time I interact with my fans across the country,” he added.
“I have worked with only one artist on this project, Eddie. I am expecting to work with other artists in other projects which will be singles.”
Mizizi album launch is expected to be spiced-up by performances from Blak Jak, Dan Lu, Piksy, Blaze, Saint and Sir Patricks. Other artists include also Black Nina, Syl C, Hilco, Twin M, Passenger, Legnz Boy, Nyasa B, Mafo, Fame Zick and Lipy G.
The launch is being sponsored by Musketeers Entertainment, a record label that DNA is signed to.
