Drug Fight Malawi donates towards sports in Lilongwe

Drug Fight Malawi (DFM) has donated sports kit towards football and netball to youths in the area of Traditional Authority (T/A) Kalolo in the capital Lilongwe, saying involvement of the latter in sporting activities can help in scaling down drug and alcohol consumption on their part.

DFM executive director, Nelson Zakeyu, said they believe the donation is a great step towards minimizing problems that young people face after consuming alcohol in the area.

The beneficiaries of the donation included Dzama United, Msokoneza football and Msokoneza women’s football. The donation included balls and jerseys.

Msokoneza United skipper Wilson Chilaka Bisayi expressed gratitude for the donation saying it will help make them busy.

“We are looking forward to mindset change in as far as drug and alcohol consumption is concerned,” said Bisayi.
