Dzuka Malawi: Any reason Mtambo, Trapence can’t wait for courts?
For many small scale business persons, the absence of demonstrations is a breather. To hear Timothy Mtambo and Gift Trapence, Solomon Phiri and Luke Tembo announce another set, many things come to mind. The first question is why would serious Civil Society call for demonstrations when the case and evidence of the alleged irregularities is in court.
After the pathetic performance by their star boy Saulosi Chilima, CSO’s need to tread carefully, it is now looking like they want someone other than the DPP to have won elections. Otherwise Jane Ansah days can be measured after the court case, after the ruling not from hearsay and emotions.
Evidence so far tested in court shows less than half a percent irregularaties affected the polls according to one contestant UTM. The amount of burning, business loss and shut down caused by CSOs is in billions. Perhaps I would not support a collateral, that should the court find nothing wrong with elections, these people calling for demonstrations will pay Malawians for creating fake problems.
This is not political, but CSOs can and should respect the rule of law. One of it is independent arbitration of the elections case currently under way in Lilongwe. There is no other better option. After all Justice Ansah clearly stated that after the case, she will go if the court finds her wrong.
Unless Trapence and Mtambo have evidence to the contrary, Malawians cant continue to dance to their tune, when the elections case has specific dates and process when we expect judgement. They are supposed to respect court, respect Malawians and be seen not to have partisan interests.
Of course they have enjoyed the destruction, their half measured denunciation of violence and ping pong play with Police on who is to blame. The forget rights have responsibilities and duties.
The elections case will go, it will end no matter how long it might be. Whether short or long, some of us would want to have a commission of inquiry as to who really funded, created violence and caused chaos in Malawi. This inquiry will not be whether Peter Mutharika remains a president or not, it will anyone who is the President after the elections case.
Malawians need to know if they were being used to pursue a certain agenda, and someone will have to pay for the cost. I am sure Mtambo and Trapence will welcome such an inquiry, wide reaching and willingly pay back Malawians should evidence emerge that they threw away any reasoning to wait for the court to pronounce the matter.
If they have evidence of Ansah failing to manage elections, let them give to court which will affirm or reject the evidence independently. Even their donors must be wondering what is in a hurry to get rid of Ansah when the courts can do it without further damage to public property.
One day, the truth will come out Messers Mtambo and Trapence, thank you for teaching Malawians to demand accountability. Malawi will prevail. Dzuka Malawi

nothing else, tell Jane Ansah to resign
There shall come a time when Mtambo will come face to face with the angry people whose property and houses have been damaged in these demos. He will be alone. No crowd of demonstrators to protect him. And he will plead with them and say sorry but his apologies will fall on deaf ears. Then he will feel the pain others have been feeling. Please call this a prophesy or prediction. There are angry people out there and these people are angry with Mtambo.
A mtambowa akuopa milandu ya zomwe aononga. This time we will deal with you. We are also citizens and we have rights too. If you wanted us to be ruled by dull people, ife takana.
Chilima is dull. If you assess his performance in court, do you see any difference with his below par performance with Zeinab Bhadawi of BBC? This guy is a full time dull person. His compatriot Chakwera is even worse. VIVA APM.
What Human rights is HRDC defending? I personally think they have overstepped their boundaries. Why should they hold the Nation at Ransom? Their actions are infringing people’s rights to property, right to shelter, right to economic activity, freedom of movement, and right to peaceful environment. The fact that a number of people are patronising their demos does not mean they are justified to arbitrarily infringe on the rights of other citizens. Such barbaric tactics will not lead this nation anywhere and there is nothing heroic about it. They may have the right to demand resignation of Jane Ansah but at what cost? Is it worth it? If she resigns so what? We are not even going to an election tomorrow. My position is that right to demonstrate should not be glorified as an absolute right and HRDC should know better if their judgement is objective and not marred by political influences.
I used to love and respect this fool called Rudo when he was a non-partisan writer but now every sensible person can see he’s a cadet in sheepskin. And that’s what happens when one has been bought into the comfort zone at the expense of the poor. The demos have got nothing to do with the court cases at hand if you really are a learned person as you claim, tell you what; the total damage caused by demos are only 0.59% of daily damages caused by your politicians through thieving. Poor people have got nothing to loose but you who eat at the high table with the oppressors that’s why you are complaining.
That is the beauty of democracy – having different views. Why should all writings be to your satisfaction? Take away the MCP syndrome where only your opinion should be heard.
Exactly! Its amazing how that these so called fighters fordemocratic values cant see in themselves the spirit of intolerance to opposing political views of others.
@Drake u mean govt to arrest our heroes & put them in which prison that will b destroyed & our guyz released? Tangoyetsani boma lanulo likudziwatu izi musayetse sakumakambirana ku cabinet koma akudziwa kuti kungayake moto heavy.
The longer you take to remove Ansah, the more problems you are brewing. It was Jane Ansah, now quota system and stinking nepotism is coming in. Peter Mutharikha will be wiped out very shortly.
Atumbuka opusa inu even if you went to bed ndi opusa anzanu otuwa akudambwe, simungagwetse boma la APM.
Opusa ndiwe ndi alomwe nonse opanda nzeru kumangoganiza zigololo. Stupid
This bastard has been given more space to destroy Malawi. What is the problem with people from the North, Last time it was Undule who led people to be killed and now it is this half Burundi and half Malawi. I have had chance to chat with those who were arrested for the violence. They claim they are being sponsored by Chilima and Chakwera and they said after causing damage they shoulld blame DPP hence at times they burn their own property like what happened to Mia and MCP office. No wonder all the offices burnt had only old furniture because such burning is staged and they remove all the good things prior to burning
WACHULUKA NDI UMBULI, THE CASES ARE NOT RELATED SIMPLE (NOT EVEN IN PERCENTAGES OR TONNAGES)
would the case have started if it was not Jane Ansah? That is what these defenders are trying to do – brainwash you! You have not even stated what the differences are.
ANTHUWA TU AKUTI MUMUCHOTSE MZIMAYIYU BASI KHANI YATHA COZ GUYS ZITHU TU SIZIKUYENDA BWINO DZIKO M DZIKU MUNO SO PLEASE TAKHALANI PASI MKUKUKAMBILA KUTI DZIKO LIYAMBENSO KUYENDA MWAKALE MUJA INE KWANGA NDIKUPEMPHA BASI
akukunamizanitu. Nkhani sithera pa Jane Ansah. Muona kuti even if Jane Ansah left, the defenders have a string of issues they want to tackle through demonstrations. Issues which happened throughout the 5 years tenure of APM, and only being tackled now? Where was their justice when APM got K145m? Where was their justice when albinos were being killed? Wake up!!
You must be a bootlicker dude,,,,,,, is the issue in the courts about Jane Ansah or parties disputing elections? Jane Ansah must fall whether you like it or not
IF SHE FALLS WHAT NEXT????
You are the one to fall not Jane Ansah
the bitch will fall soon…
The only reason is that their case is not in any court of law. Check with the Registraar of the High Court if there is any case challenging Jane Ansah to resign. Please, do not confuse facts. And on the issue of ‘evidence tested so far’ mind you, that was to do with number of polling stations versus number of polling stations with any irregularities. MEC does not declare anybody winner based on the number of polling stations he/she won, rather, they base on the number of votes cast in his/her favour. Mlandu ukadali kutali uwu, fatsani kaye.
0.5% OF 5000000= 20000 votes. It wont change anything!!!!
Iwe Cadet weni weni Rudo, just shut your stinking mouth.
You always write nonsense on this forum. Your Ansah Jane must prepare to pay for this destructions.
WHy dont you open your own forum where only you and your faithful talk? This is public and everyone has the right to write. MCP syndrome.
Your Mtambo and friends are the ones to pay for this destructions
I think Mr Rudo is dpp. There is no sense in your article here. Demanding Jane Ansah to resign is different from Court case. With or without court case. CSO’s are very right to hold demos any one against this is dpp. The case is in Cross Examinations and first petitioner in nthis week Kaphale has already failed to explain simple question why one presiding officer signing for tw constituencies tally sheets why is it legal and where were those results captured. So drama has not yet started and leave that to the courts and leave demos to the CSO’s.
Who confirms a wrong committed? Mtambo or the courts? When did Mtambo and Trapence became courts in their own rights?
Those who are sending you will mess up your lives!
Mtambo, Trapence, Sembereka and Mayaya, have no respect for the rule of LAW, as long as the Government is quiet on this, they are taking it as Government is weak and afraid of them. They are trying to drive the Government into heavy handedness which the Government is not interested to do, the Government is not weak, it has all options at its disposal to silence these people. I believe the Government can of now arrest these people keep them in prison until the case is over. In 2016 Zambian opposition leader tried to undermine the elections results, Insulting President Lungu up to an extent of interfering with Presidential Motorcade cursing President Lungus presidential guards. The Police, Army and all security organs in Zambia felt that Opposition Leader HH had over stepped the Limits of the acceptable freedoms, also putting the life of the President and Government officials at risk. He and many of his supporters who intercepted and harassed the Presidential Motorcade were arrested and bail was denied for almost a year because they were a security risk to the Country. If Mtambo and his friends insists on invading the Airports and Borders, they should be treated as a Security risk and be arrested without for a longer period without bail. The reasons for their arrest can be: a security risk to Malawians, undermining the judicial, Undermining the Military establishments of Police and the Army, eg attacking, destroying of Police structures in Lilongwe(destruction of Police houses and a Police vehicle, beating and harassing of a female police officer who was in civilian clothes). By planning to invade Airports and Borders can be deemed as conniving with foreign forces to violently overthrow the Malawi Government and put a risk to the lives of Malawians residing in the Borders and near Airports. At any cost the Government must not allow this to happen, even if the Mtambos have friends in the military/police establishments and Judicial, personal interests must not over rule the National safety, Government must act to put a stop to this nosense.
The security of Malawi is not being threatened at all. The Army General has come out clearly, they will protect the citizens of Malawi if anybody threatens them. Demos are the only effective mode of communication for the masses. They cannot take the ruling cabal to court because they do not have resources. All governments hate when the masses try to organise themselves. Governments are happy when the masses busy themselves with watching football, watching TV .
which law are they breaking sir? This government cannot arrest the mtambos. where will they get the confidence? they know they are there illigally. let them dare
If the courts cant stop the demos cause the case in court “sub-judice” then these are two different stories that simple! The outcome of the case has nothing to do with the demos but the voices of Malawians who do not want a chair lady of the MEC partying with the winners after elections thus unprofessional! Do you see Judges celebrating with court case winners he presided over in public like Jane did! Those are issues she must step down for one.
SO YOUR DEMOS ARE NOT CONNECTED TO THE ELECTIONS???? WHAT ARE THEY CONNECTED TO THEN????
iwe just shut up your mouth who told you that the case chilima will loose , nayeso anaononga ndalama alindi ufulu kudandaula ngati anabeledwa pachisanko sizakunyumba kwa muntu izi , kuti muziongoopyeza antu ndi ma trick anuwo chisanko chinabeledwa thas a fact tonse tikuziwa zimenezi man
Rubbish!!!
Mr Rudo, is the court sitting to remove Jane Ansah or to decide if there were or not irregularities?
The concern of Malawians is justice ! can we have fair trial while the accused is still holding to her office ? The issue here is, Ansa MUST resign to face fair trial to avoid interfering with evidence. And your news is saying Chilima is struggling in court, what do you mean ? Don you know this is cross examination time and all the AG trying to do is to find more from Chilima as a complainant.
WHY FACE TRIAL??? WHAT WRONG DID SHE DO????
Inunso a Nyasa muziganiza polemba. Mayiyu sanayendetse bwino chisankho thats why we want her to go.
Please provide evidence. It is only the capable courts that can determine that not heresay as if you were in all 5002 polling station to determine that. Comment on issues you can capably justify. That is the whole reason SKC is having problems in backing his evidence because of people like you, who give unsubstiated evidence. Dont’ just join the bandwagon – investigate on your own.
Your article leaves a lot to be desired, that’s why people are not commenting on it. We know exactly who u are,a CADET disguising as a Malawi sympathiser. Mtambo and Trapense are not using force for Malawians to go to streets. Malawians are just tired with these lomwes period!!!
So where do you want the Lomwes to go?
but you have just commented! heheheh
ntambo ukudzesa chisokonezo…ife mavwndor tikulephera kupanga bussines iweyo you have aid.. r u stronger than court y cant you wait…becareful
Who ever has given you chibanzi is messing with your brains,if you are wise enough then you suppose to understand that the case in court and demostrations are not the same.so wake up Malawi, this country is poor bcz of people like you,you cling to the idea of kamuzu Banda for the government that have absolute power,we are not there anymore,it’s time for people’s wishes to be respected.and the time is now,
Your inability to make money for your family is because of yourself. Work hard. If you wait for the new Government to help you, then you shall remain poor mpakana kale. You need to change your mindset tht Government provides an enabling environment for one to be an entrepreneur. Don’t think the new Government can also give you hard cash. Then you will forever be a begger.
Indeed there must be an inquiry
Mob justice can kill the wrong people
Why are the sponsors hiding behind malova
I mean the sponsors of looting and violence
The HRDC would have petitioned the court to remove Ansah if they have a legitimate argument. Because what the demonstrators are doing is justice without trial. As a bonafide citizen of Malawi, Ansah needs to enjoy the rights as enshrined in the constitution. A parent cannot reasonablly remove a child from the dining table on suspicion that the child stole some relish in the absence of the truth. This is the situation on the ground. I do agree with this article.
useless reporter with useless article, who told u that the percentage of irregularities will determine the judgement in court?sometyms its better ukhale phee ndikumawonerera as it unfolds.coz palibe chanzeru walembapo apa
Another cadet writing. Mumva pain. Star Boy yemweyo aoneka dolo ma lawyer ake akayamba kufusa obera ma vote. Tieni nazo HRDC we are with you.
Powerful
dont worry we are going to demonstrate in all airports and borders without fear and regretting
Hoping to find Jane Ansah there?
Court case is court court case….demos case is a moral issue. dont mislead Malawians. we know the truth. even if judges say Apm won elections, we will continue fighting for the truth bec the truth is in our hands. Do you know that an innocent person can lose a case in court?
Hahahahahaha!!! CADETS are still having difficulties to differentiate between Court Issues and Public Demand! Eeeeeish!! HRDC Leadership has visions and they can see things from afar!!! Which Malawians are you talking? Are there some people who are more Malawians than those Millions of people who are making Vigils in the Cities of this Country?
Foolish cadet. Thieves win cases in court because many times they use crooked lawyers in court. It is common down in South Africa and other countries in South America. UTM and MCP have their case in court. Let them fight their battle. We the people of Malawi believe these thieves store our votes. We will not go to court. We have the power to stop these thieves. We will stop them now. We will not relent until these bustards leave. Malawi is our country. We will not allow maniacs to continue spoiling our resources. See what the cabinet is composed of. Thieves Thieves Thieves. DEMOS is the only solution to save Malawi from unexplained deaths we have witnessed in the past. DEmOS is the only way we can save APM from his captivity by people around him.
innocent people usually loose cases in courts because their lawyers have benefitted too!
An excellent article. I hope the village idiots you mention will read this.
Some tell this complete fraud to go find a river-stone to wipe his crusty ass…. or, go suck an old man’s dick.
has this comment anything to do with the article or you are just trying to use some English, which you yourself do not understand?
