Father impregnates own biological daughter, arrested on incest charges
Malawi Police in Balaka have arrested a 43-year-old man for allegedly defiling and impregnating his 14-year-old biological daughter. 
This comes hot on the heels campaigns by rights activists against defilement and rape cases which are on the increase in the country.
Balaka Police publicist Felix Misomali has identified the man as Austin Ali who hails from Chikoko village Traditional Authority Kalembo in the district.
Misomali said Ali is suspected of committing defiling his daughter in August this year.
“When the victim was quizzed to reveal the person responsible for her pregnancy mentioned her biological father who she says allegedly threatened her twice with a sharp knife forcing himself on her,” said Misomali.
Medical test results at Kalembo health centre confirmed the victim is four months pregnant.
Misomali said the suspect is expected to appear before court soon to answer the charge of incest.
