Fear Not, I am with You: Jesus Christ

Many times, fear has opened spiritual doors which allow the enemy to keep God’s children in bondage.Fear is the cause of sicknesses, loss of confidence, failure to reach God’s desired destiny, missing financial breakthroughs, and many problems that God’s children have been through. It is sad to notice many people have missed a key to their destiny because of fear. God knew that the enemy will use fear to keep His children in bondage, therefore“fear not”, or “do not be afraid” has been repeated numerous times in the bible to make sure we all understand that the spirit of fear is not from God Almighty but from the pits of hell.

The Children of Israel saw many miracles in Egypt that God Himself used to show His power yet they could not get it as they were afraid when they saw the Egyptians getting very close to them and they cried out to Moses thinking the wilderness would become their grave. Moses responded by telling them to fear not but stand still and see the Salvation of the Lord (Exodus 14 vs 13).You can imagine how God looked at the Children of Israel because these are people who had just seen many miracles that God performed through Moses in Egypt which made pharaoh agreeing to let them Go and save their God.

Looking at their murmurings you will notice that these children of Israel were still looking at things with a physical eye instead of the spiritual eye. By looking with a physical eye, they saw great chariots getting close to them, instead of seeing God who had just performed the miracles which led to their deliverance. Dwelling or focusing on the problem will always allow the enemy to bring fear in God’s children until focus is completely lost, and eventually cannot even pray at all. This is the enemy’s strategy to defeat God’s children especially at the edge of a miracle just as it was with the Israelites as the enemy knows that once fear clips in, the doors are opened that enables all the attacks of the enemy get access into our lives.

When the King of Syria sent horses, and chariots, and a great host to fetch Elisha, upon seeing the chariots and a great host, his servant was afraid but Elisha told the servant to not be afraid(II Kings 6:15).As children of God, we also have the same assurance to never be daunted by that which appearon the surface. This means we must never walk “after the flesh,” but rather “after the spirit” because our adversary the devil walks about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 4:8).

Sometimes we start very well but when a small storm rises up, we are shaken to a point that saying a prayer becomes very hard because we are so afraid. This is exactly what pleases the enemy to know that their tactics have worked because the doors are opened and you become a playgroundfor oppression, sickness and all kinds of financial embarrassments. Without fear, you will be able to stand with boldness and remind the enemy of His Fall when Jesus defeated powers of the darkness on the Crossof Calvary therefore redeeming us.

Our Heavenly father, is a God who loves us too much to just sit in heaven and allow the powers of darkness be oppressing us.“For he who touches you touches the apple of God’s eye” (Zechariah 2:8).

That’s so true, being afraid of the world or anything in it means you are doubting God’s ability over your life. And God can’t help us when we are doubting him, even Jesus in his own city he did not heal some people because of unbelief that even He himself marveled at their unbelief. God is compassionate when we cry yes, but faith moves Him much. Thanks for the post
