Govt warns striking Immigration officers that the action amounts to ‘mutiny, criminal trespass and conspiracy to felony’
As immigration officers are set to start their industrial strike today, Ministry of Homeland Security has described the strike as illegal and warned that the alleged industrial action amounts to mutiny, criminal trespass and conspiracy to commit felony.

It has threatened that the law shall take its course on the officers who will proceed with the strike.
In a statement signed by the ministry’s principal secretary Steven Kayuni, all airport formations including airports should remain operational today as normally expected.
“The acclaimed industrial action is illegal as there has been no adherence to the processes laid down by the law. The ministry will not resist to inforce the law as duly authorized.
“The ministry would like to warn the officers that being security officers within immigration department, proceeding with the alleged industrial action amounts to mutiny, criminal trespass and conspiracy to commit felony,” Kayuni has warned.
He has further warned that upon arrest and conviction by the court of law, they will face punishment of several years imprisonment.
The immigration officers today plan to down tools to force government to fire their boss Brigadier Charles Kalumo (retired) whom they accuse of destroying the department.
