The traditional leaders say they are irked to see the selfies in various social media platforms.

Sub-Traditional Authority Chipeni said the gulewamkulu sometimes stop children from going to school.

“They are happy to take selfies with visitors, we see these in the social media but they harass our women and children. They must not be allowed to be out anyhow,” said the chief.

He was speaking at a meeting organised by the Evangelical Association of Malawi.

He also said that gulewamkulu should not be allowed to be out on Christmas days and Mothers’ Day.
