Lilongwe-based hip-hop artist Gwamba, Sunday midnight dropped his new single titled ‘Zimuvuta’ and on the first day of it’s release went straight into the Top 10 of most downloaded songs on www.malawi-music.com, the country’s leading local music website.
On Monday, the song which features Gwamba’s L-City hommies Martse, Krazie G and Tidacase was on number six with 5042 downloads.
The song, currently trending on Twitter, was produced by Daredevilz and AK, a team of Blantyre and Lilongwe-based producers.
‘Zimuvuta’ is taken from Gwamba’s long awaited debut album ‘Kudutsa Pakhoma’, which according to his label Prime Time Media, is ready for release on a date to be announced soon.
Gwamba’s earlier singles, ‘Bola Kusache’ featuring Nesnes and ‘Ndiyima Pachulu’ featuring Bucci, remain in the Top 20 of the most downloaded songs, enjoying airplay on all radio stations and videos also enjoying airplay on all TV stations in Malawi.
According to Gwamba’s manager at Prime Time Media, Edward Kankhomba, “Zimuvuta music video is already in the pipeline.”
