Kachali warns MP Henry Shawa against fighting his seat
Member of Parliament for Mzimba central constituency Mabvuto Joseph Kachali has warned his fellow lawmaker Henry Mpofu Shawa against fighting him in the constituency.
Shawa is lawmaker for Blantyre Bangwe Constituency and as recently endorsed by President Joyce Banda to be ruling People’s Party candidate in the constituency in the 2014 elections.
Speaking on Saturday when he addressed a rally at Mtende primary school ground in his constituency, Kachali said he has noted Shawa has been mobilizing resources and maintaining teachers’ houses, classrooms and bridges within the constituency as he seeks relocation.
Said Kachali: ”This is not time for campaign if they want to unseat me let them wait for 2014 because currently am the sitting MP.”

The MP then reminded those who want to contest for the seat that there is one MP and one constituency at a time.
Kachali became an MP after emerging victorious during the by-elections that took place on October 9.
Initially, he won the seat as an independent but he later joined the ruling People’s Party.
